Het Ricardishof in Delft is a special student residence. The building went up in the 1960s as a residence for student nurses. Since 1996, around a hundred students have lived here, spread over five floors.
The way it's organised is special too. The rooms and studios are usually bought by the residents' parents, and an active owners' association takes care of shared matters. Every floor feels like a student house of its own, with a shared kitchen and a communal living room.
The Ricardishof holds a special place for us. The complex was once part of a fiber project for student housing facilitated by TU Delft. When the university ended that project, the residents looked for a new provider and found the best offer at OpenFiber. That made the Ricardishof the very first complex OpenFiber connected. The owners' association chose to give every room and studio fast internet, and that's still the case today.
